Bank One bought out First USA Bank in 1997... and Wingspan Bank... that's Bank One too.

- relying on low "teaser rates" failed to keep customers around when interest charges returned to 18% and more
- failing to anticipate that demanding late fees on payments that were one day late would send many customers packing
- generally ignoring the importance of customer service in keeping the customers that cost so much to attract
